Maui Fire Relief Print Sale

if you know me personally, you know that Maui is a very special place to me and many folks I care deeply for. i’ve had the luxury of spending a lot of time there over the years. my partner is from Maui, and their family (and many friends) still live there. it has become like a second home to me - i feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to develop my own relationship to this place. Maui and everyone I have interacted with on it have always welcomed me with open arms and have given me so much.

It’s been very difficult to wrap my head around the devastation from the recent fires. rescuers and medical personnel are rushing to the scene to provide aid. many people will be displaced, while others try to recover from the shock and wounds suffered in the fire. relief organizations continue to mobilize, bringing supplies and assistance to the stricken area. as we’ve seen, many many people lost their homes. a deeply important historic town has vanished. fields, meadows, and farms are ash. thousands are without drinking water for the unforeseeable future. the list of impacts goes on and on.

i am incredibly proud of the community, and my friends on/from Maui who have taken action. I wish there was more I could do to help, but being so far away makes this difficult. The least I could do is try to raise some money.

I’ve been working on a long-term project these past few year that has Maui as the backdrop. The project isn’t anywhere near complete or flushed out, but that being said, below are 4 pictures here that I am happy with that will eventually be included.

Starting today, I will be selling prints to raise money for Maui Strong Fund. 100% of the money raised during this print sale will be matched. I will be taking orders from August 16th - August 25th. At that point I will begin the printing process.
