Altar to the Setting Sun

40 page zine printed on newsprint, with photos taken back in fall / winter 2023 at an altar I created in Golden Gate Park, when I lived in San Francisco. I created the altar as I was mentally preparing to leave the city for New York. Every Decision related to the altar had its fate determined by a set of dousing rods.

is location important? should it be in san francisco? indoors? outdoors? north? south? east? west? above ground? buried? is height important? 3 feet? 5? 5'5"? 5'7"? precisely 6 feet? should seeds be sown at its greatest depth? marigolds? should its structural integrity rely on something natural? a tree? a redwood? eucalyptus? should it carry light in times of darkness? I think you get the point?
